Interim govt asset disclosure: Tisha’s wealth rises, Farooki’s declines
Following the publication of asset declarations of advisers to the interim government, Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and his wife, actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha, have drawn attention. Over the course of one year, Farooki’s total assets declined, while Tisha’s increased by more than Tk 1.5 crore.
On Tuesday (February 10), the Cabinet Division published the asset statements of the Chief Adviser, other advisers to the interim government, individuals of equivalent rank, and their family members. According to a gazette notification issued by the Cabinet Division on October 1, 2024, the asset statements of the advisers and equivalent-ranking individuals of the interim government, along with their spouses, were disclosed as of June 30, 2024 and June 30, 2025. The accounts for the subsequent nearly eight months have not been included here.
According to the declarations of the interim government advisers, Nusrat Imrose Tisha’s total assets stood at Tk 1,40,81,860 as of June 30, 2024. A year later, on June 30, 2025, her total assets increased to Tk 2,99,89,501; a rise of Tk 1,59,07,641 over the year.
During the same period, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s total assets decreased. As of June 30, 2024, his assets were valued at Tk 2,26,92,026. By June 30, 2025, the amount had declined to Tk 2,15,18,026, marking a reduction of Tk 11,74,000 over one year.
