Shafin Ahmed files case against Qinetic Network MD and Director

Legendary musician Shafin Ahmed, who formerly played for the band Miles, today filed a case against Ashiqun Nabi, the managing director of Qinetic Network Pvt Ltd, and its director, Ashifun Nabi, for allegedly breaching copyright laws.

Upon hearing the case, Judge Md Asaduzzaman of Dhaka's Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court recorded the statement of the complainant, took cognizance of the charges, and issued summons, requiring them to appear before the court on November 5 in connection with the case.

 They have been summoned to provide an explanation regarding the charges brought against them in the case. According to the complaint, Qinetic Network used a hundred songs by Shafin on platforms such as YouTube, Amazon, Welcome Tunes, and Apple Music without his permission for an extended period, which constitutes a clear violation of Bangladesh's copyright laws.
