Sabrina Carpenter has reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 as her latest release, "Man's Best Friend", opens at No 1.

The 12-track album marks her second consecutive chart-topping project in just over a year, following 2024's "Short n' Sweet", which spent four weeks at No 1, remains at No 7 this week, and earned her a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album.

According to Luminate, "Man's Best Friend" launched with 366,000 album units, giving Carpenter the strongest debut of her career. By comparison, "Short n' Sweet" opened with 362,000 equivalent units and reclaimed its position as a US top-seller in February after the release of its deluxe edition.

"Man's Best Friend" also set several new records, scoring the biggest opening week for any female album in 2025 by surpassing the 219,000-unit debut of Lady Gaga's "Mayhem". The album further broke the record for the largest streaming debut by a woman this year, amassing 184 million streams. On Spotify, it achieved the highest single-day streams for a female album in 2025.

Carpenter's seventh studio album was preceded by the singles "Manchild" and "Tears", with "Manchild" becoming her first track to debut at No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. On September 4, she treated fans to a surprise bonus track, "Such a Funny Way", which is available exclusively through her website.
