‘Rebuilding the Nation’ concert to celebrate the spirit of July Uprising

To mark six months since the victory of the July Uprising on August 5, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement (SAD) is set to host one of Bangladesh's largest open-air concerts. Titled "Rebuilding the Nation", the event will take place on February 22 at Sher-E-Bangla Nagar in Agargaon, Dhaka, the former venue of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF).
This open-air concert will feature an impressive lineup of Bangladeshi musicians, with rock icon Nagar Baul James headlining the event.
Other performers include Chirkutt, Artcell, Shonar Bangla Circus, Bengal Symphony, Bangla Five, Cryptic Fate, Kureghor, Kaaktaal, and Farzana Wahid Shayan, among others.
A press conference was held yesterday to share details of the concert, where organisers announced that hundreds of thousands of people are expected to attend.
Speaking on behalf of the organising committee, they stated, "This will be one of the largest open-air concerts in Bangladesh's history. The venue can accommodate a massive audience, ensuring a safe and immersive experience for all. The lineup has been curated with artistes who stood in solidarity with the movement, prioritising its cause over their personal careers."
Organiser Radman Hossain Anup highlighted the significance of the event, saying, "The success of the July Uprising was achieved on August 5. To mark six months of that victory, the anti-discrimination movement (SAD) has been organising various nationwide programmes."
"As part of this initiative, we are hosting one of the country's largest open-air concerts. The main goal of 'Rebuilding the Nation' is to bring everyone together once again—just as the entire nation stood united during the uprising. Every song performed on February 22 will serve as a weapon for change," he added.
The concert will be free for all, and organisers have confirmed that all necessary preparations have already been completed.
