Lalon singer Farida Parveen recovers, returns home after thirteen days

Renowned Lalon singer Farida Parveen has returned home after recovering from severe health complications that required intensive medical care. She was hospitalised on February 1 due to respiratory distress, along with issues related to diabetes, high blood pressure, and thyroid complications. After spending several days in the ICU, she gradually improved and was discharged under medical supervision.
Ashish Kumar Chakraborty stated, "Initially, her condition was somewhat critical. However, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the doctors, she gradually recovered. At one point, there was a possibility that she might need dialysis, but fortunately, it was not required. Now, she is completely healthy. We have provided her with specific guidelines, which she must follow strictly; otherwise, complications could arise again."
Farida Parveen began her musical journey in 1968 as a listed artiste of Rajshahi Betar, initially performing Nazrul Sangeet. Around 1973, she gained popularity for singing patriotic songs. She later trained in Lalon Sangeet under the guidance of spiritual mentor Moksed Ali Shah.
In recognition of her significant contributions to music, Farida Parveen was honoured with the Ekushey Padak in 1987. Additionally, in 2008, she received the Fukuoka Asian Culture Prize from the Japanese government. She also won the National Film Award for Best Playback Singer in 1993.
Committed to preserving Lalon Sangeet for future generations, she established a music school named Achin Pakhi School to teach children the rich heritage of this genre.
