Dewana: Fuad brings Bangla Qawwali to Coke Studio Bangla
In its second season, Coke Studio Bangla successfully presented some tracks that will sustain for a long time in the listeners' playlist.
Prior to Eid-ul-Azha, the project has dropped a new song, "Dewana", a Bangla Qawwali piece.
The song primarily features Fuad Almuqtadir, an iconic music producer of the alternative and fusion genre of Bangladeshi music.
Furthermore, much like other Coke Studio Bangla songs, an ensemble cast of musicians are also featured in the freshly released track, including the return of Soumyadeep Sikdar, popularly known as Murshidabadi, known for season one's "Shob Lokey Koy" and Tasfia Fatima (Tashfee) from "Lilabali".
The entire season has been produced and curated by Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, while "Dewana" has been composed and produced by Fuad Almuqtadir. The portion of 'Asheqjon' has been written and composed by Pagol Goni Mastan, while Kon Shei Ashiq has been penned by renowned Indian poet Srijato.
The celebratory song has been mixed and mastered by Fuad, while additional arrangements were done by Shayan Chowdhury Arnob and Shuvendu Das Shuvo. "Dewana" is being passionate for love and longing for the divine.
During a live session before the song was revealed for the first time, Arnob shared that when he thought about this genre to be Coke Studio's one of the numbers, he was sure that it had to be made by Fuad. A few months before the shoot, Fuad came to Bangladesh.
Listeners are already providing positive feedback for the wonderfully innovative track.
