Veteran television personality Mostafizur Rahman passes away

Renowned television personality, producer and former Director-General of Bangladesh Television (BTV) Mostafizur Rahman passed away on Sunday evening (July 26), marking the end of an era in Bangladesh's television industry. He was instrumental in shaping the country's television landscape through his pioneering work as a producer, broadcaster and media administrator.

The news of his passing was confirmed by media personality Kha Ma Harun in a social media post.

Mostafizur Rahman was one of the key creative forces behind the golden era of Bangladesh Television (BTV), producing several landmark Bengali television dramas that have stood the test of time. Among his most celebrated works are "Sokal Shondha", "Eishob Dinratri" and "Shankhonil Karagar", productions that remain widely acclaimed by audiences. His creative vision and innovative approach played a defining role in the evolution of television drama in Bangladesh.

Over the course of his distinguished career, Mostafizur Rahman also served as the Director General of Bangladesh Television. He later played a pioneering role in the country's private television sector, contributing significantly to the establishment of Banglavision and GTV (Gazi TV). His leadership helped usher in a new era of modern broadcasting in Bangladesh.
