Cineplex to host Summer Fest featuring four hit Bangla films
Star Cineplex has announced a special event for cinema lovers across Bangladesh. The week-long Summer Fest will take place from June 19 to 25 and will feature four popular Bangla films.
The films selected for the festival are “Borbaad”, directed by Mehedi Hassan Hridoy and starring Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul; “Taandob”, directed by Raihan Rafi and featuring Shakib Khan, Sabila Nur and Jaya Ahsan; “Utshob”, directed by Tanim Noor and starring Zahid Hasan, Chanchal Chowdhury, Jaya Ahsan and Sadia Ayman; and “Bonolota Express”, starring Mosharraf Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Sariful Razz and Sabila Nur.
According to Star Cineplex, the festival will give audiences an opportunity to enjoy some of the most talked-about and well-received Bangla films of recent times on the big screen. The four films have earned praise for their storytelling, filmmaking and performances.
Speaking about the initiative, Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, senior manager (Marketing) of Star Cineplex, said the festival was organised to provide healthy entertainment during the summer season and to support the growing momentum of local cinema. “We are committed to bringing quality films to our audiences. We also hope to organise similar festivals featuring more popular Bangla films in the future,” he said.
He added that the four films represent different genres and are expected to attract viewers of all ages. He expressed hope that the event would further strengthen the popularity of Bangla cinema.
