Vietnam president for unlocking potentials for common prosperity
Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang today said Bangladesh and Vietnam have agreed to unlock potentials on geographical location, natural bounties, youth population and huge market for common prosperity.
"We've agreed to further strengthen the 45 years’ diplomatic ties and put importance to unlocking immense potentials on geographical location, natural bounties, youth population and huge market," he said.
The president said this while speaking at a joint press statement after bilateral talks with Prime Minister Sheikh at her office.

In his statement, President Dai Quang said both sides reiterated to maintain traditional friendship between the two countries and expressed their delight at the encouraging progress in bilateral ties.
He said the two sides agreed to find suitable measures to create breakthrough and add greater depth, substance and efficiency to their relations in keeping with people's aspirations and benefits.
On economic, trade and investment cooperation, Dai Quang said they agreed to encourage and widen business activities, study and tap each other's potentials and propose prospective measures to boost bilateral trade and two-way investments considering potentials and advantages.
He mentioned that Dhaka and Hanoi will facilitate bilateral trade as each country has advantages and will look into greater potentials on other areas as well as facilitate greater access to information and trade connectivity for the business community.
About cooperation in the field of agriculture, livestock and fisheries, the two countries need to work closely in mutual support and consider establishment of joint venture association and production change, he said.
The Vietnamese president said they put importance to application of high technologies in production, cultivation and preservation to increase value the exports of each country and protect them from trade barriers when exported to third countries.
On defence and security cooperation, he said they agreed to explore cooperation on each other's needs and capabilities, while immediate attention would be given to the areas of defence industry as well as enhance cooperation in participation at the peace keeping operations.
About South China Sea issue, Quang said as members of the 1982 UNCLOS, the two sides agreed to work closely to ensure the freedom of navigation and peaceful settlement of all international disputes, including territorial and maritime disputes in accordance with the international law.
