UPDF member stabbed dead in Rangamati

A member of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) was stabbed to death allegedly by members of a rival group in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati early today.

Notun Moni Chakma, 35, was allegedly picked up by unknown assailants from his house at Goboghona village around midnight and stabbed him to death near the house, our Rangamati correspondent reports quoting Amir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Baghaichhari Police Station.

Talking to the correspondent, UPDF coordinator of Rangamati unit Shachal Chakma confirmed that Notun Chakma was a member of his party.

Notun Moni was killed by the members of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (MN Larma), Shachal Chakma claimed.
