They don’t know the law properly: Law minister

Law Minister Anisul Huq today said transport workers are enforcing the strike because they do not know about the road transport act properly.

“There is no such a provision in the law which can affect anybody if they don’t commit any crime. I urge them to withdraw the strike,” he said.

Minister Huq was speaking to reporters after attending a programme in Dhaka.

He said, Road Transport Act-2018 will facilitate drivers to drive vehicles rightly and will reduce road accidents.

‘NO CHANGING DIGITAL SECURITY ACT’

Minister Huq said the Digital Security Act will not be amended as it was not formulated to damage the freedom of press or speech.

Investigative reporting will not be curbed due to the law, he said, adding that the act has been formulated in order to resist cyber-crimes.
