3 ‘robbers’ killed in Bandarban ‘gunfight’
Three suspected robbers were killed in a reported gunfight between two groups of robbers in Bandarban's Naikhanchhari upazila early today.
The deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain Prokas Ania, 27, as top terror and robber, Parvez Hossain Bappi, 23, and Abdul Hamid, 23, our Cox’s Bazar correspondent reports quoting police.
They were also accused in different cases including robbery, murder and abduction, said Habibur Rahman, in-charge of Baishari police investigation centre in the upazila.
Sheikh Alamgir, officer-in-charge of Naikhanchhari Police Station, said a police team rushed to the spot following an information that two robbers’ groups were exchanging gunshots in Chainga Bazar area around 5:00am over establishing supremacy.
Later, the law enforcers found the bodies of the robbers lying inside a rubber garden in the area and took the bodies to Bandarban district hospital morgue, added the OC.
