Patient dies as ambulance hits tree in Barguna

A patient died and four others were injured when an ambulance hit a roadside tree in Amtali upazila of Barguna this afternoon.

The deceased Krishna Kanto Shil, 70, hailed from Taktabunia village in Amtali upazila, our Patuakhali correspondent reports quoting Pulok Chandra Roy, officer-in-charge of Amtali Police Station.

The incident occurred around 12noon in Sikder Bari area when Krishna was being taken to a hospital in Barisal.

His wife Amri Rani Shil, 50, brother, Hiram Lal Shil, 56 and son Amol Shil, 40, who accompanied him along with the driver, were also injured in the accident.

The injured were admitted to Amtali Upazila Health Complex for treatment, the police official said, adding that the condition of the driver was critical.
