Road communications between Rangamati and Bandarban resumed yesterday following the reconstruction of a Bailey bridge that collapsed on April 14 this year.

Sub-Assistant Engineer Abu Musa of Rangamati Roads and Highways Department said the renovation work took nearly two months at a cost of about Tk 45 lakh.

The bridge was opened to traffic yesterday, Musa added.

On April 14, the Bailey bridge in Bogapara area in Kaukhali upazila of Rangamati collapsed when an excavator of Icon Engineering Ltd, a private construction firm, was crossing it.
