The Election Commission today declared the schedule for by-poll in Tangail-4 constituency which fell vacant following the resignation of sacked minister Abdul Latif Siddique.

The by-poll will be held on October 28, while candidates can submit their nomination papers till September 30, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad told reporters during a press briefing at the commission's Media Centre this afternoon.

The nomination papers will be scrutinised on October 3, and candidates can withdraw their nomination till October 11, he added.

Tangail-4 constituency was declared vacant from September 1 after Latif Siddique tendered his resignation letter to the Speaker.
