UP polls violence: Madaripur bullet-hit man dies at DMCH

A man died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early today, a day after he was shot during a clash between supporters of two candidates following Thursday's union parishad elections in Madaripur.
Hasan, 32, of Diapara village in Kunia union, died at the DMCH around 5:30am, said Ziaul Morshed, officer-in-charge of Madaripur Sadar Police Station.
Seven people were shot as supporters of two chairman candidates – Awami League-nominated Sanwar Hossain and AL rebel candidate Shaheb Ali -- locked in a clash at the village around 11:00am yesterday, the police official added.
The injured were rushed to Madaripur Sadar Hospital from where Hasan was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
