A nor'wester lashed Dhaka and four other districts this morning.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department recorded 38 milimetres of rainfall during the hour-long shower that started around 8:00am, said Hafizur Rahman, a meteorologist of the met office.

None was hurt in the storm that also swept through Tangail, Gazipur, Mymensingh and Sylhet with the speed of 37 kilometres per hour, the meteorologist said.

According to the met office forecast, mild heat wave has been sweeping over Rajshahi, Pabna, Satkhira, Jessore and Kushtia. "It may abate," the bulletin read.

The maximum temperature in Dhaka was recorded 30.6 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, the Met office says.
