Man admits involvement in dumping Rajon’s body
A man, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in Rajon killing, today admitted before a court in Sylhet that he was involved in dumping the kid's body.
Judge Sahedul Karim of the Metropolitan Magistrate Court-1 recorded the statement of suspect Ayaz Ali under Section 164, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.
In his statement, Ayaz said he was not at the spot when Rajon was being tortured, said court sources.
He, however, said when watchman Moyna and others requested him to take Rajon to a hospital, he agreed to the call.
As Rajon succumbed to his injuries, they planned to dump the body, Ayaz said. Locals caught Muhith while the body was being dumped, but Ayaz managed to flee, DB Inspector Suronjit Talukder confirmed The Daily Star, quoting Ayaz.
The 13-year-old victim, Sheikh Md Samiul Alam Rajon, died from severe torture. A group of brutes was "punishing" him in Kumargaon Bus Stand area of Sylhet on July 8. His "crime", they claimed, was stealing.
