Liberation war affairs to have 100 marks in BCS exam

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq today told Parliament that liberation war affairs will have 100 marks in BCS written examinations.

"A process is now underway to keep 100 marks fixed for the 23-year struggle for freedom and the 9-month liberation war affairs in the most competitive BCS (written) examinations," he said.

The government came up with the move alongside including the issue in textbooks so that the next generation can clearly learn about the Liberation War, he said replying to a supplementary question from ruling party whip Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker.

In reply to another supplementary question from a treasury bench MP Jahangir Kabir Nanak (Dhaka-13), the minister said his ministry will soon take an initiative to preserve Mohammad Physical Training Centre that had been used as a torture cell during the Liberation War.

 "Our ministry will soon take an initiative how to preserve Mohammad Physical Training Centre, and will sincerely consider the proposal of the MP (Nanak) to set a structure for showing hatred (towards Pakistani occupation forces and their collaborators) there."

Responding to a starred question from Awami League MP Md Shirajul Islam Mollah (Narsingdi-3), the minister said it is now at final stage to publish more 32 Birangana (war heroines) as freedom fighters in gazette.

Earlier on September 29, 2015, the government published a gazette declaring 41 Birangana as freedom fighters, he added.
