Govt officials in remote areas to get monthly allowance

The government officials, who are posted in islands, shoals, and haors in 16 upazilas, will receive a monthly allowance, according to a gazette notification.

Ministry of Finance issued the notification, undersigned by Additional Secretary Md Shahjahan, on May 5 as per the order of the president.

The officials will receive a minimum allowance of Tk 1,650 for Grade 20 and a maximum of Tk 5,000 for grade 7 and above, the notification read.

Earlier on February 18 last year, Cabinet Division of the government issued a gazette notification announcing monthly allowance for the officials posted in the 16 upazilas which were declared as islands, shoals or haors, it added.
