Outgoing British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Gibson will meet BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today ahead of his departure from the country.

"This will be the farewell meeting. The British high commissioner is expected to meet Khaleda Zia around 6:00pm," Sayrul Kabir Khan, a staff of the BNP chief's press wing, told The Daily Star over phone.

Gibson, who has been the high commissioner to Bangladesh since September 2011, will be replaced by Alison Blake. Blake will take up her diplomatic assignment in Dhaka during January 2016. Prior to her new assignment, Blake served as deputy high commissioner in Islamabad.
