7-murder: Revision plea seeks further probe
A revision petition has been filed with the High Court seeking its order on police to conduct further investigation into the sensational Narayanganj seven-murder case.
Selina Islam, wife of Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam, who was among the seven victims abducted and killed in April last year, recently submitted the petition saying that five local people, whose names were included in the first information report (FIR), have been dropped from the charge sheet of the case.
The five people are Yasin Miah, Aminul Haque, Hasmat Ali, Iqbal Hossain and Anwar Hossain, said Deputy Attorney General Shaikh AKM Moniruzzaman Kabir.
After a brief hearing today, the HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Amir Hossain fixed tomorrow for resuming hearing on the petition, he said.
During today's hearing, petitioner's lawyer Montu Ghosh told the court that principal accused of the case Nur Hossain has been brought back to the country from abroad, which is an appreciating initiative.
Seven people including Nazrul and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker were abducted from the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road on April 27, 2014 and the bodies were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river a few days later.
On November 9 this year, Narayanganj District and Sessions Judge Syed Enayet Hossain rejected a petition filed by Selina seeking review of the dismissal of the no confidence petition and acceptance of the charge sheet by another judge on July 8.
Selina recently filed the revision petition with the HC challenging the Narayanganj court order.
