6 killed in Khulna, Feni, Lamonirhat road crashes
Six people including a couple were killed in separate road accidents in Khulna, Feni and Lalmonirhat this morning.
The deceased are: Nazrul Islam Mollah, 42, and his wife Ayesha Siddiqqua, 38, of Khulna district; Abul Kashem, 42, and Samiul, 10, of Rangpur district; and names of two other victims in Feni could not be known immediately.
In Khulna, a truck hit a motorcycle on Khulna-Satkhira highway at Jhilerdanga in Dumuria upazila, killing Nazrul and Ayesha on the spot around 9:15am, Habib Hasan, officer-in-charge of Dumuria Police Station, told our local correspondent.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue.
In Feni, two people were killed and three others injured when a truck rammed a covered van on Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Lemua Bridge in Sadar upazila, UNB reports.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Akbar Hossain, sub-inspector of Highway police camp, said the Chattogram-bound truck hit the covered van from behind around 6:00am.
The truck driver and helper died on the spot while three others were injured, SI Akbar said.
The injured were taken to a local hospital.
In Lalmonirhat, two people, including a boy, were killed as a bus ran over them on a road in Sadar upazila, UNB reports quoting Mahfuzur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
The bodies were taken to the district’s Sadar Hospital morgue around 8:00am, the OC said.
