4 arms suppliers 'linked to militancy' held in Ctg

Rapid Action Battalion arrested four people in Chittagong city for their alleged involvement in supplying firearms to militant training camps.

In an overnight drive, Rab recovered five AK-22, five foreign pistols and huge ammunition from their possession, said Lt Col Mifta Uddin Ahmed, commanding officer of Rab-7. 

Mojaher, one of the arrestees, led the firearms supply team, our Chittagong correspondent reports quoting the Rab official.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-7 conducted several drives at different areas in Kotwali, Panchlaish and Akbar Shah police stations and arrested the four persons, said Lt Col Mifta.

The arrestees supplied firearms to the militant dens of Banshkhali and Halishahar in Chittagong, which were busted on February 22 and 28.
