Detectives arrested two human traffickers and rescued 18 victims in Ashkona area of Dhaka last night.

"The victims were being trafficked to Republic of Palau," said a text message sent by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

A team of Detective Branch of Police conducted a drive in Ashkona after receiving information that some people were being trafficked to Palau.

DMP is expected to hold a press briefing later in the day to provide more details on the arrest.
