Misguidance from tower caused the crash: US-Bangla CEO

US-Bangla Airlines Chief Executive Officer Imran Asif today said the wrong signal from air traffic control (ATC) tower of Tribhuvan International Airport led to the aircraft crash.

He came up with the remarks while talking to reporters at US-Bangla Airlines headquarters in Baridhara area of Dhaka, hours after an aircraft of the airlines crashed leaving at least 49 people dead.

“The ATC (air traffic control) tower misguided our pilots. They (pilots) didn’t know where to land on the runway,” he said.

Mentioning that the air craft did not have any record of technical glitch, he said, “On primary assumption, we believe that negligence happened from the ATC tower’s end, not from our pilots’ end.”
