‘Militant’ Abu’s wife undergoing treatment at RMCH
The wife of the militant suspect killed in yesterday’s operation in Shibganj of Chapainawabganj is undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) amid high security.
Sumaiya, who is pregnant and sustained bullet wounds in the operation “Eagle Hunt”, was brought out of the one-storey house yesterday evening along with a child minutes before law-enforcers wrapped up the operation.
The 21-year old woman, wife of Rafiqul Islam alias Abu, an operative of militant outfit “Neo JMB”, was taken to the hospital at around 1.30am, our Rajshahi staff correspondent reports.
Abu was said to have been killed in a suicide blast during the operation on Thursday.

She is four and a half month pregnant, sustained bullet wounds in her right leg, said Brig Gen AFM Rafiqul Islam, director of the hospital.
Orthopaedics doctors, who are treating her at a cabin, saw many shotgun pellets in the x-ray report, said acting Deputy Director Rezaul Karim.
Additional police forces were deployed at the hospital while the hospital authority, on request of police, prohibited entrance of anyone other than attendants, said the top officials.
Even entry of the journalists was restricted while the doctors are treating the injured woman in presence of female police members, they said.
Police barred this correspondent at the hospital gate and local police officials denied to provide further details.
