Zakir Hossain new SC registrar

Md Zakir Hossain, who is currently serving as the Supreme Court's acting registrar general and the Appellate Division’s registrar, has been appointed its (SC) registrar general.

The law ministry made the appointment as per desire of Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain.

The same ministry yesterday issued a gazette notification on this appointment, saying his appointment as the SC registrar general will come into effect immediately, Law Ministry’s Deputy Secretary Mahbuber Rahman Sarker told The Daily Star.

Zakir Hossain, was appointed as the SC's acting registrar general on October 17 last year two days after the SC brought major changes in its administration by transferring 10 key officials including its Registrar General Syed Aminul Islam.
