It's PM’s responsibility to share with president: Quader
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said Sheikh Hasina has met the president to share her government's stance on the Supreme Court verdict on 16th amendment to the constitution as chief of the government and her party as well.
“As the chief of the government and the ruling Awami League, it was her (Hasina) responsibility to convey the government’s stance to the president over the 16th amendment verdict,” Quader said while addressing a programme at the secretariat in Dhaka this noon.
Apart from the SC verdict on the16 constitutional amendment, Quader said the prime minister also informed President Abdul Hamid about the country’s latest flood situation and inquired about his health condition.
“Who is putting pressure on whom to change the Supreme Court verdict on the 16th amendment to the constitution?” Quader questioned responding to the BNP’s blame in this regard.
Quader said, “Is it possible to bring any result by creating pressure on such a person who holds president post? BNP is doing excessive over the issue.”
BNP has been given an issue and the party is trying to cash it after being convinced by its Standing Committee Member Moudud Ahmed, who lost his “residence” in Gulshan in legal battle.
Fakhrul has become disappointed as a plot to carry out another attack like August 21 grenade attack on National Mourning Day on August 15 in Dhaka was foiled, he said.
“There was plan to kill at least 500 people including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina but it was foiled. And thus, Fakhrul is dissatisfied,” he said.
BNP leaders have become like reckless drivers and no one knows when they will happen accident, Quader said calling upon his party men to be alert for the sake of the country’s progress and development.
