Females ahead of males in SSC exam

Female students have achieved better results than the male students in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination.

The pass rate of female students in Science Group under eight general educational boards is 93.90 percent while the rate of male students is 92.91 percent.

In Humanities Group, 74.65 percent female students passed while the pass rate of male candidates is 71.42 percent, and in Business Studies Group, 83.56 percent female students passed compared to 77.76 percent male students.

This year, about 80.35 percent students passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent tests, which is lower compared to previous years.
