Farmers block Pabna-Rajshahi highway

Road communication on Pabna-Rajshahi highway remains suspended as farmers took position in Baraigram upazila of Natore protesting damage of their crops by a local rice mill.   

Around 150 local farmers in the area blocked the highway bringing allegation Rashid Auto Rice Mill released boiled water on their land and damaged paddy, our nature correspondent reports quoting police.

Meanwhile, a tailback is being created on the highway due to the road block, Samsun Nur, officer-in-charge (OC) of Baraigram Police Station, told the correspondent.
