EC biased, alleges BNP

The BNP-led 20-party alliance today alleged that the Election Commission’s biased attitude has made the electoral atmosphere questionable.

“The Election Commission’s biased role in scrutinising the candidates and enforcing the electoral code of conduct has already made the electoral atmosphere questionable,” BNP Joint Secretary General Barkat Ullah Bulu made the allegation in a press statement this evening.

He also urged the EC to deploy army to ensure a level-playing field for all candidates in the upcoming polls to Dhaka north, south and Chittagong city corporations scheduled for April 28.

“We expect that the Election Commission would ensure a level playing field by deploying army during the elections,” he added.
