PM Hasina thanks God for waning Fani

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today thanked God for the low amount of devastation caused by cyclone Fani, that has now reduced to a depression.

“As there is no news of big disaster, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in London, expressed her gratitude to Allah and offered prayer seeking wellbeing of the countrymen,” said Md Nazibur Rahman, principal secretary to the prime minister.

Rahman held a meeting with government high-ups at the Prime Minister’s Office and expressed overall satisfaction to the role of the government and nongovernment organizations in dealing with Fani, said a press statement from the PMO.

The government took extensive preparations to face the natural disaster in line with directives from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, statement said.

Special prayers were organised at all mosques across country after Jumma prayers yesterday seeking salvation from the natural calamity, it said.
