Deer come out of forest for flood in Bhola
Deer of Monpura forest in Bhola were coming out of the forest today to avoid flooding after heavy rainfall influenced by cyclone Fani.
"We are trying to keep the deer safe which are trying to run to the streets or in the locality due to the storm and rainfall," Sumon Das, forest officer of Monpura Range told our Jhalokathi correspondent.
The officers are protecting around 14 deer so far from general people and poachers, he said.
Officials at Monpura forest department recently said that around 3,500 spotted deer are sheltered in Monpura forest, which consists of 5,000 hectares of land.
Meanwhile, around 1,000 domestic animals including buffalos and cows are missing since last night in Bhola's Charfashion upazila, according to locals.
They suspect the cattle were washed away during the storm, our correspondent reports.
