3 frauds held in Gazipur
Criminal Investigation Deprtment (CID) today claimed arrest of three alleged members of a fraud gang including an official of a security guard of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Gazipur.
The detainees are Md Jabed, a security guard of MK Traders which operates at the Dhaka airport, and two bKash agents Md Yusuf and Md Mehedi Hasan, according to a release of Criminal Investigation department (CID) of Bangladesh Police.
A CID team arrested them from Gazipur yesterday in a case filed against them with Mohammadpur Police Station, the release read.
Jabed used to collect important personal information from those who were awaiting flights to go abroad and from their relatives waiting for their departure at the airport.
After the flights take off, Jabed with the help of his cohorts impersonate the foreign-goers and contact their relatives to send him money through bKash account claiming he needed the money to confirm his flight as he lost his money and documents.
According to the release, one Md Abul Bashar became victim of Jabed’s deception on March 17 this year by sending him Tk 36,000 to make sure his son could embark on his flight to Bahrain. After his son contacted him from Bahrain, he came to know that nothing went wrong with the flight and understood that he was deceived. He then filed a fraud case with Mohammadpur Police Station on July 18.
CID later took the charge of investigation in the case, the release added.
