Charge framing in Rakib killing Oct 5
A Khulna court today fixed October 5 for holding a hearing on charge framing against the accused in 12-year-old boy Rakib killing case.
Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Dilruba Sultana fixed the date after a hearing when he rejected the bail petition of the accused.
On August 3, Rakib, who used to work at a motorcycle garage at Tutpara Central Road in Khulna city, was tortured to death allegedly by his former employer over quitting job.
Alam Haldar, victim's father, filed a case with Sadar Police Station against three people -- Sharif, Mintu and Beauty Begum -- after the brutal killing.
Following the incident, agitated public handed the accused over to the police after giving them a good beating.
Later, Mintu Khan, a so-called uncle of M Omar Sharif, the prime accused in the case, Sharif and his mother Beauty Begum reportedly confessed their involvement in the gruesome killing.
On August 25, Sub-inspector Quazi Mostak Ahmed, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted a charge sheet naming the trio.
On September 6, the Metropolitan Court sent the case to the Metropolitan Sessions Court.
