Law enforcers arrested four members including head of northern region of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Shibganj upazila in Bogura today.

The arrestees are: Md Ataur Rahman alias Harun alias Arafat, 34, head of JMB’s northern region of Rangpur; Md Mizanur Rahman alias Nahid alias Morchal, 42, of Naogaon; Md Jahurul Islam alias Siddique, 27, of Gaibandha; and Mizanur Rahman, 24, of Bogura.

A joint team of Bogra police and LIC wing of Police Headquarters conducted a drive at Pakurtola bus stand around 1:00am and arrested the four JMB members, said a press release.

The law enforcers seized a pistol, three bullets, three sharp weapons and explosive materials, the release added.
