3 coast guards killed Barguna road crash

Three members of Bangladesh Coast Guard were killed as a bus hit their motorcycle in Amtoli upazila of Barguna this noon.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Sadek, 30, of Nandail upazila in Mymensingh, Md Fuad Hossain, 23, of Kathalia upazila in Jhalakathi, and Md Anamul Haque, 38, of Ramganj upazila in Khanrachhari, reports our Patuakhali correspondent.

All were serving at coast guard base station in Durgapur area of Patuakhali, police said.

The bus of 'Mayer Doa Paribahan' hit the motorcycle in Bandra area around 12:00noon when they were going to Kuakata from Amtoli, said Md Shahidullah, officer-in-charge of Amtoli Police Station.

Two of the victims died on the spot and while another succumbed to his injuries at Kalapara Upazila Health Complex, the OC said. The bodies were sent to Barguna General Hospital for autopsy, he added.

The driver of the bus managed to flee while law enforcers seized the vehicle soon after the accident, police said.
