2 Ansar Al Islam militants held in N’ganj

Law enforcers have claimed arrest of two members of banned Islamist outfit Ansar Al Islam from a raid in Narayanganj’s Araihazar on the wee hours of today.

The arrestees have been identified as Jahidul Islam alias Kawsar, 32, and Moshiur Rahman alias Jibon, 28.

Shakil Ahmed, operation officer of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) – 11, said the duo admitted of being actively involved into militant activities of Ansar Al Islam.

Based on specific intelligence, Rab raided Araihazar around 1:30am and arrested them. Religiously inciting documents and some weapons were seized from their possession.
