Youth dies with coronavirus symptoms in Rangamati

An 18-year-old died with coronavirus-like symptoms in Chattogram General Hospital early this morning.

The youth was admitted to Bagaichari Health Complex on April as he developed Covid-19 symptoms, reports our correspondent quoting Iftekhar Ahmed, health officer of the clinic.

Iftekhar said the patient was referred to Chattogram General Hospital as his condition deteriorated. He breathed his last early this morning, said the health officer.

Iftekhar said the youth was suffering from respiratory illness, throat pain and fever for the last few days.

Samples were collected from his body and sent to Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) in Chattogram for Covid-19 testing.

His family members and households in the vicinity were asked to remain in quarantine.
