Meter reader with ‘2 crore wealth’, ACC notice issued
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today issued a notice to a meter reader of Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) asking to submit wealth statement as the commission in its primary investigation found that he amassed wealth worth more than Tk 2 crore illegally.
ACC issued the notice to Mosharraf Hossain after the anti-graft body in its enquiry found an under-construction six-storied building in Narsingdi town and 3.26 acre lands in Gazipur and Mymensingh under the ownership of the accused, said Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, ACC’s Public Relations Officer (PRO).
It is not possible for a 3rd class government employee to make such fortune ‘through salary and legal income’, said Pranab adding Mosharraf amassed the wealth through ‘meter tempering.’
In order to find out the source of income, ACC has issued the notice, the PRO added.
