Youth run over by private car in Mirpur

A young man was killed after a private car ran him over in Dhaka’s Mirpur area today.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Amin, 30, a resident of Baunia dam area of the capital’s Pallabi, inspector Bachchu Mia, also in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp, told The Daily Star.

The speeding car hit Amin when he was crossing a road in Jute Patti area of Mirpur-10 around 11:30am, leaving him injured critically, said Bachchu Mia.

The injured was taken to the DMCH where doctors declared him dead around 12:30pm, the police official added.
