3 ‘drug peddlers’ killed in Ctg ‘gunfight’
Three suspected drug peddlers were killed in a “gunfight” with Rapid Action Battalion in Chittagong city early today.
The “gunfight” took place in Railgate area under Khulshi Police Station when Rab intercepted a private car carrying drugs, reports our Chittagong staff correspondent quoting a text message sent to media by Rab Assistant Director (media wing) Mimtanur Rahman.
Identities of the deceased could not be known yet.
Around 120kgs of cannabis, weapons and bullets were seized from the spot, according to the text message.
With the three, the number of drug peddlers killed since the anti-narcotics drive began on May 4 rises to 202. Most of them were killed in incidents of “shootouts” with police or Rab.
