Submit progress report on private hospitals’ charges: HC
The High Court today directed the authorities concerned of the government to submit a report on the progress of displaying the chart of charges of private clinics, hospitals and diagnostic centres in public view before this court by January 15.
The HC bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam also fixed January 15 for passing further order on this issue, Deputy Attorney General Motaher Hossain Sazu told The Daily Star.
Following a writ petition, the HC on July 24 last year directed the private clinics, hospitals and diagnostic centres to display the charts of their charges and fees in public view.
The court also asked the health secretary, director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council to execute the order within 15 days after receiving the order and to submit a report to it after complying with the directive.
Writ petitioner’s counsel Advocate Bashir Ahmed today told the HC that its earlier order was not implemented by the respondents.
Hearing his statement, the HC bench passed the order asking for the progress report.
