A group of journalists today demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the persons who attacked Channel 9 reporter Mahmud Hossain on January 11.
Forming a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka, they also threatened to wage tough movement if their demands are not met by seven days.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Mahmud, a staff reporter of the private television channel, came under attack at Rampura on January 11.
On the following day, he filed a case accusing two named Monir and Lebu Mia and three to four unknown persons with Khilgaon Police Station. But none was arrested yet, according to police.
They said they would march towards Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) office if the accused are not arrested soon.
