Girl electrocuted at Jatrabari children park

A five-year-old girl was electrocuted at a children park at Jatrabari in Dhaka this afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Anika Akhter, daughter of Azhar Ali, a rickshaw-puller and a resident of Mugda area in the capital.

The victim went to the amusement park -- Swami Bagh Wanderland with her elder sister to celebrate Eid, said Assistant Sub-Inspector Sentu Das of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp.

The girl fell into the rail tracks from the platform of the amusement park and got electrocuted in a wire, said the police officer.

Critically injured Anika was rushed to the DMCH where doctors pronounced her dead around 5:30pm, he added.
