Girl dies after falling in water tank in Dhaka

A 6-year-old girl was killed today after falling into a water tank of an under construction building in Chandalbhog area under Turag Police Station in Dhaka.

The deceased was identified as Zarin, daughter of Ziaur Rahman, said Nurul Muttakin, officer-in-charge of the police station.  

Zarin went to play with her classmates in the morning. At that time, she fell into the water tank of the apartment, the police official said.

He also said that the infant’s body was rescued by locals from the tank.

She was declared dead after she was rushed to Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital.

The owner of the apartment ran away after the incident.
