1 killed in Mohammadpur road accident

A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver was killed as his vehicle collided head-on with a bus in Mohammadpur Beribadh area of Dhaka this morning.

The deceased was identified as Mufazzal Hosen Mir, 55, hailing from Bhola, AbdurRab, Mufazzal’s son, told The Daily Star.

Mufazzal was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the doctors declared him dead, he added.

Contacted, Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge (OC) (investigation) of Mohammadpur Police Station said, a bus hit the autorickshaw and ran away around 5:00am.

“The bus managed to flee the scene, however we are trying to identify it from CCTV footages,” the OC added.
