Man held with huge foreign currency at Dhaka airport

Customs Intelligence today arrested a man with huge amount of foreign currencies equivalent to Tk 12.91 lakh from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

The detainee, Rezowar Morshed Pavel, was arrested around 10:00am with a large amount of currencies of Pound, Euro, US dollars and Thai Baht when he was leaving Dhaka for Bangkok, according to a Facebook post on the Customs Intelligence Bangladesh page.

The arrestee was carrying the money without any formal declaration, the Facebook post said.

The currencies include 7,615 British Pound, 3,002 US dollars, 1,900 Euros and 80 Thai Baht, it added.
