Airport Armed Police Battalion today detained a man along with four bars of gold, weighing a kilogram each, at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The arrestee, Mizanur Rahman, 40, is said to be a resident of Munshiganj.

We detained him from the round ground of the airport at around 11:30am, said said Tanzina Akter, an assistant superintendent of APBn.

He landed the airport by a flight of Malaysia Airlines. “We found the gold after frisking him,” she said and added that procedures were underway to file a case in this regard.
